چکیده
This paper studies the effect of gravity orientation on a heat sink, used to passively cool thick film resistor, by changing assembly orientation. Using same geometry and boundary conditions as in experimental setup, finite element simulations were conducted evaluate accuracy Siemens Flotherm XT 2021.2 simulation software. In order determine influence sink orientation, measurements performed resistor temperature using thermocouples. Simcenter software (Siemens, Munich, Germany) was perform simulation. The position evaluated two setups, one where is placed directly screws, second one, thermal pad between sink. Screws clamp parts both cases. total, four experiments with assemblies different orientations for each assembly. all cases, wooden structure prevent transfer through conduction, due poor conductivity wood, allow unrestricted air flow underneath around first then calibrated scenario, rest made one. No other changes made. Temperature show an improved cooling when speed fins enhanced natural hot movement generated gravity. Gravity has regardless presence or absence interface material. Measured temperatures reduced up 8.2 °C rotation heatsink. Finite analysis shows similar values measured ones scenarios.

Experimental and finite element vibrational analysis of exhaust manifold heat shield
Most of internal combustion engines have one or two heat shields that have been installed on the exhaust manifold to avoid the heat transfer to upper parts of the engine such as the valve cover. In some engines, this part fails due to the fracture and causes engine noise and other failures in the engine. In this paper, the failure of a heat shield due to vibrational loads of the engine has been...
